Camp Knock Knock
Family bereavement camp that opens the door to healing
“Camp Knock Knock was a safe space for me and my mom. After my dad died, I felt disconnected from kids my own age. It was nice to remember him, feel supported, and have fun. It’s been a big piece of my healing journey, and I’m super thankful for this experience going into my adult life.”
-Makena, 2015 Camper
What is Camp Knock Knock?
CKK is an annual weekend camp for Vermont families with school aged children who have experienced the death of a loved one. Designed to provide open support and guidance, CKK provides opportunities for growth and healing with the help of skilled counselors and specially trained volunteers. Campers are encouraged to explore the natural grieving process and learn from each other through facilitated groups and traditional camp activities.
Our Approach
When a death occurs in a family, it affects everyone. Campers are encouraged to explore and share about their grief as individuals and as part of a family unit. Within an emotionally safe environment, we weave traditional camp activities around group work, memorializing loved ones, and providing support to one another.
