Schedule of Camp
Friday
A warm welcome to Camp
Our weekend begins Friday evening with registration, followed by a shared meal and an opening ceremony to welcome campers and volunteers alike. We allow plenty of time for campers to settle into their cabins, get familiar with the camp setting, and gently ease into the weekend. The evening wraps up with entertainment.
Saturday
Healing, connection, & fun
Saturday is centered around our grief support groups, which take place in both the morning and afternoon. Campers and caregivers are placed in age-appropriate groups, providing a safe space to connect with others and explore their experiences with grief and loss.
Outside of group time, campers can choose from a wide variety of activities for all ages. Recreational activities include arts & crafts, a life-size dollhouse, story corner, tennis and basketball courts, gaga ball, and an entertainment room featuring games like ping-pong and pool.
In the evening, everyone comes together for a meal served family-style, followed by entertainment and a campfire with s’mores.
Sunday
Memories, reflection, and goodbyes
After breakfast, adult campers are invited to connect with their child's group facilitators to gain insight into the group experience and the activities their children had participated in. Facilitators also address how children cope with grief at different developmental stages. There is an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with facilitators in which caregivers receive helpful resources on grief, loss, and ongoing support after camp—including ways to stay connected with our Camp Director.
Following this meeting, we hold a candle lighting ceremony to honor our loved ones. This meaningful ceremony offers campers a chance to share stories and reflect together.
The weekend wraps up with a closing ceremony in which campers come together one last time, feeling more connected. Part of the ceremony includes collectively sending a message to our loved one. celebrate the bonds formed and the healing that has begun.
